We were hogging quite some time at the counter until aiya, paiseh and just chosen a thriller starring Jim Carrey called Number 23.

It was quite hard to believe Jim Carrey would be acting in a thriller/horror/suspense film? Hmm...

The moment I saw the opening of the movie, I regretted...

The dialogue were lame. I think I can write a much better script than that. Goodness. He is a dog catcher and never misses a catch but one particular day he was hurt by this bulldog while catching it and it got away and led him to graveyard of a lady's tomb. Then he was late for meeting his wife who was hanging around at a bookstore and she intro him a book she was reading called 'Number 23'.

Jim Carrey then got hooked reading the book and imagined himself to be the protagonist mentioned in the book which was in first person's pov. He was horrified that he bear so many resemblance to the author. The author eventually killed his woman as mentioned in the book and Jim Carrey sometimes dreamt about killing his wife from being too influenced & engross in the book. The book was supposed to have 23 chapters but there was only 22 so Jim was dying trying to find out what happened in the end and tried ways & means to find out the whereabouts of the author of that book....

I couldn't remember how they did it but the person who turned up happened to be a doctor or professor of a mental asylum instead of the author of the book. I couldn't remember who killed that doctor but before he died, he mouthed to Jim Carrey's wife to check out a cell at the mental asylum which she did. She discovered a shocking news, her husband was a patient from the mental asylum and he couldn't remember whatever happened before he met her.

On the other hand, Jim Carrey was still decoding clues from the book and tried to look for the last chapter of the story and it was written all over the walls in one of the hotel rooms. And in the first few lines of Chapter 23, it stated that the author of the book was Jim Carrey himself and it was a true account of himself. He met a girl he really love and became possessive and get aggressive whenever he see her with any males and he finally turned psycho and killed the girl and buried her. Overwhelmed with guilt he wrote his own story 'Number 23' and after finishing the book, he committed suicide by jumping off from the window but was rescued and sent to the mental asylum and was slowly regaining everything.

He became better and could be released from there... He gotten himself a job and met his wife and started a family on their own afresh.

Jim Carrey then recalled everything... The grave which the bulldog let him too previously belong to that girl he used to love deeply whom he killed eventually. So the ending was that he turned himself in and went to jail while his wife promised she'll wait for him and they'll start everything over upon his release...

SIMI SAI MOVIE IS THAT????? GOODNESS!!!

Yes it's a suspense film where you wouldn't know what will be happening. But it's really a psychotic movie leh... Not that any part of the filming is disturbing but...The storyline really... ahhh, bian tai!
