The Tourist (2010)
The Tourist is a slow paced movie.
While
Angelina Jolie was sibei chio in the movie, the same cannot be said for
Johnny Depp's image inside -_- with the messy hair and all... looks
like a hobo if you asked me :P
Most of the settling was in Venice and it's just ooooh-so-romantic. 这怎么可能是平凡人的命呢?
Anyway, the movie isn't about the lives of ordinary anyway. According to a positive review from this site , this movie is not much more than eye candy (of the beautiful sceneries + Angelina Jolie of course!) and he/she summarised it perfectly! :D
"It begins with Elise Ward (Angelina Jolie); the girlfriend of Alexander Pearce – who is the modern day Robin Hood essentially: an international thief that steals from incredibly rich gangsters. Everyone is looking for this guy, including the British Secret Service (Lead by Timothy Dalton and Paul Bettany) as well as some gangster who want revenge on him for taking their money.
Elise hasn’t seen Pearce for a long while, and they have arranged to meet up in Europe. The gangsters and the Secret Service are intently surveilling Elise whilst she waits for Pearce, he however doesn’t show up – he instead sends a letter that basically says: ‘Get on a train to Venice, choose a stranger that looks like Pearce and make the gangsters and the secret service believe it is me’. So she picks Frank Tupelo, a mathematics teacher (played by Johnny Depp). And so it’s this guy Tupelo that is the titular ‘Tourist’.
Hijinks ensue, the two fall for each other amongst being in the middle of this huge cat and mouse game involving, secret undercover agents, international thief's, and gangsters. There are boat chases and gun fights, there are long beautiful moments in which the scenery of Venice is displayed, and there is a romance. There are undercover agents and huge ballroom dances and whatnot.
The movie is essentially one long romantic adventure that is designed to please the general audience. Its so predictable and light that the film-makers obviously don’t pretend otherwise.
Jolie is fantastic and as beautiful as ever as Elise, she has a really great English accent; and its also good seeing Depp play a real person for once. It was actually quite shocking seeing Depp without crazy make up and a ridiculous voice. It reminded me that the man can act with subtlety. The only issue is that the chemistry with Jolie isn’t quite there the whole time, but for the most part it is fine.
The movies only real downfall is the pretty uninteresting villains. They are cardboard and don’t really pose much of a threat, but I suppose the movie is meant to be this way. There are quite a few funny moments, and the film is pretty to look at: with beautiful vistas of Venice and Italy and whatnot. Paul Bettany and Timothy Dalton don’t have much to do, but they are fine in their roles – they have enough moments to shine.
The storyline of the movie is predictable for sure, but it does manage to surprise with a clever final twenty minutes, that provide just what you were expecting- but in a way that also gives you what you would be wanting from such a movie. But there was twist towards the end and it was only revealed in the last few scenes. Not bad for the twist!"
I think this is a damn boliao show, because:

I think this is a damn boliao show, because:
- Jolie is supposed to be a spy but all she does is sashay in designer clothes
- Depp is not tourist, he's the guy! the guy that everyone is looking for! He's the goddamn husband of Jolie in the show!
- Was Jolie so dumb that she couldn't recognise her own husband and actually thinks the person who looks like her husband is a stranger?
- WHY DID THE HUSBAND WANNA DISGUISE HIMSELF AS SOMEONE ELSE? Why didn't he reveal himself to HIS OWN WIFE?
