Summer Vacation (Part 5) : Macau Skytower & St Paul
May 16, 2009 Summer Vacation Day 6
Saturday, had some nice breakfast before checking out of the hotel!
MY GOD!!! This taste heavenly! It's some kinda sago tart!
NICE! I wanna eat it again!
Crab egg yolk bun! thumbs up!
After breakfast, we checked out of the hotel and board a 7-seater kinda vehicle
that would take us back to Macau.
I got a chance to snap a couple of pics of the helpful bellboy who was being so nice to us! Guy on the right is the extremely nice & helpful bellboy named Jacky with ZY photobombing this picture lol
He was closing the door for us.
He saw us off and kept bowing, smiling and wishing us that we had a good stay in Shenzhen. Ahh... it's ppl like him that makes a trip memorable. Very nice guy indeed. On previous occasions I also saw him attending to ang moh tourists. He speaks quite good English. I hope he likes his job.
Camwhoring inside the car!
It was raining by the time we were on the roads.
The journey back to Macau took a couple of hours. We went back to Dasao's friend's apartment to put our luggage back there and was heading out to Macau's biggest attraction - Macau Sky Tower .
I remember watching one of the Asia's Amazing Race doing the challenge here. One challenge was to do the skydive all the way down, another challenge was to climb up to the highest point to get the clue. Both are for ppl who are fearless of height. Those who are afraid of height, I don't think they're able to complete this.
So anyway, we took the escalator all the way up and saw some ppl queuing up to jump! Geez, I wouldn't dare to do it! There were some hall of fames of celebrities who did the jump! I saw the Keninchi from Death Note and also this...
Very cute ah pek doing the skywalking! One of the item of the bucket list checked? =P
Errm... not a working punch line for me
Read this before doing the jump!
We took the escalator a few floors down where the food area were. It was also the observatory of the city view as well as to catch a glimpse of those who jumped down from the top most!
Decided to have some ice cream while sitting around taking pics!
Kinda like Tokyo Tower kinda thing...
The walking path is actually transparent so one could actually see how high above you actually are. Quite scary seriously. Trying not to freak out ...
Grey shoelace is Xiang, red shoelace is me. You see a square thing at the bottom of the tower? That's the cushion for the bungee jumpers/skydivers to fall into! SCARY!!
Pics of cute Dearie! =X
That thing should be steady right? Wont drop & fall off right? *Freaked out* ZY was the one who took these pics, I didn't dare to stand there too long. My legs were wobbly already.
Some couple more pictures!
We went to the shopping area of the tower and looked around. Nothing much to buy. Prices of tourist area are usually jacked up a lot.
We got onto the cab and would be heading toward the Dai San Ba (canto pronunciation for 大三巴 or something?) where the famous St Paul's Church would be.
Camwhoring in the cab...
Tada! We'd reached Dai San Ba! It's easy to recognise from the European style buildings
Ah! Nice! I always see this scene on TV or movies and now I finally got to be there LIVE!
Very bustling ah!!! It's like a "City Hall" back during the days when Portuguese ruled Macau.
I like the little shelters from each of the window!
A very pretty church! You hardly see a church in bright yellow!
HUGGU!!! I like huggu Dearie! ^^
I can see St Paul in front le!
Some giant burger stall!
TADA! This is what we are here for~ LOL!
I think this church was blasted during some war but the front gate was left standing. It's just that one piece of wall standing only. Everything else was blast into piece. Wonder what the wall was made of!
Dearie was standing there while waiting for his parents who were probably buying things...
while I was happily wanting to go up to the church to explore....
It was going to be evening soon, sky was turning darker...
The bamboo shoot looking building behind is said to be some famous casinos.
Actually most of the building/skyscrapers in Macao are casinos! LOL!
ZY they all were still buying things so there was just Dearie & me and we tried to self take pics of ourselves together with the St Paul view... But apparently it was quite hard ah. Very hard to aim.
All not nice leh! Either we look shit, or look blur or not properly composed.
So we gave up and waited until ZY they all came and help us took pics. lol
We moved to the other angle of the church. By then, most of the lamp posts were lighted. Yay! I think they know that even then, there will be night time where tourist would come to visit. Nice of them to provide additional lighting! Yay!
But my camera usually will turn useless for night shots... Either blur or dark.
I really need to invest in a better camera la.
These following pics were taken from ZY's DSLR.
ZY asked Xiang to kissed me and Dearie swept me unprepared... lol! But it was fun la!
It felt as though we were shooting wedding photos also!
SARANG HEYO DEARIE!!!
NICE SHOTS! Could have been better if we were dressed more appropriate instead of just polo T la!
The composition & colour are good! Except I don't look flattering from lower angle.
Double chin & fat arm come out liao :(
I was glad to have visited this place!
Evening view is really lovely!
Not really sure what to have for dinner. While walking passed one of the shops, they recommended us their Jap food. Looks not bad on the pamphlets so we took the lift up to the 3rd floor and what welcomed us was some eerie looking restaurant with barely a few souls. We made our orders but what came was vastly different from the pamphlets. Eeeew sian. But bo bian since we were there then just fill our stomach for the time being.
Night view of the place really looks very romantic... and then I remembered I wasn't there alone with Dearie but his whole family so we couldn't stay too long to take more pics. Only managed to snap a few blurry shots...
We got into the cab and head back to the apartment. It will be our last day tomorrow before we depart from Macau back to Singapore!
