While my life isn't as happening as before when I was younger but once in a while I am still glad by the little occasions that still comes my way and put on a smile on my face despite the fact that from time to time I still get bogged down by work.
By 'work', I certainly don't mean the type that require me to bring home stuff to do or that I have a lot of stress to deal with. Let's just say that the undesirable situations still happen and no matter how I tell myself to convince myself to accept or 看开 helps.
Same as looking for a partner/spouse, looking for a job is really 随缘.
So I keep telling myself that since I found a boyfriend/husband with looking through hundreds of Friendster profiles, perhaps there's also a special job scope/role/position out there hidden in one of the job portals waiting for me to apply. I'd just have to keep looking, saving, applying, await for response. Ok, a bit dramatic but it makes me hopeful :)

Just a recap of some events in my life...
Koh Family Chalet
Ever since Ah Ma passed away during CNY, there really wasn't a reason to keep in touch with the relatives. We typically meet up during CNY in Feb, Mother's Day in May & Ah Ma's birthday in June. So out of goodwill, a few cousins decided to organise a chalet @ Aloha Loyang.
|
Mr Koh is always happier being with relatives than with us. |
But most of the times my sisters & Dearie & I were just playing Bridge in the room! and keeping to ourselves. The elders were playing mj while the kids played xbox/wii.
Beach was boring but we see this was a place totally for families. We see other baby's 1st birthday, some other families' occasions etc.

Ah Neng's Convocation & Graduation Shots
|
我们家阿能毕业了! |
Her convocation was held at Nanyang Auditorium and how convenient it was for me to just walk over during lunch break and join my family. Ah Mian & I were just waiting outside for them since only our parents are the guests emitted inside.

Cool colours on the left and warm colours on the right :) |

The Graduation bear was a 博士 bear for her, the rest were gifts from her friends! |

Papa's hand not steady one..... |
We have actually also contacted my wedding photographer to take Family/Graduating outdoor shoot but since the males (My Papa & Dearie) weren't keen so it was just us, the ladies and Blocmemoire was really fast hand fast leh in editing! So here are some sneak pics...

Ah Mian left for Stockholm, Sweden
She will be there for 6-months! Such a lucky kid to be able to travel to Europe TWICE! Once she went to Brussels, Belgium for Choir performance and now for student exchange and there will be 3-weeks that she will be visiting around Europe! SO SHIOK!!!!
I was stuck in the office with my sad low life and couldn't go off on time and had to CALL cab in order to rush him..... I was pretty annoyed with this. Argh! Managed to reach home in time and able to join Papa's car to see Ah Mian off at the airport!
I didn't know Ah Mian was so popular!!! So many of her friends specially came all the way to the airport to see her off!!! They even handmade presents for her! Awww....

Ah Mian's besties gave her hand made photo album! SO SWEET! |
It has become increasingly fun to stalk Ah Mian's FB for almost daily interesting posts about her travels, the kinda food she cooks and the things that she do.
In the beginning when she was traveling around Europe, she always tap onto free WiFi and connection super unstable, chat until halfway will d/c. But now as she settles in her hostel and classes, the routine is pretty predictable and my parents enjoyed Skyping with her on a weekly basis everyday Sundays.
Ah Neng & I plan to visit Ah Mian & neighbouring Scandinavian countries in Dec even though by then it will be minus 10-20 degrees but that's the only time Ah Neng will have school holidays leh. Hmmm....
NDP
Prior to the long long holiday that any working ppl was looking forward to, I was involved with the Staff Welfare for some pre-NDP events.
Not really interested to go into details cos I think I'm probably suay to always end up 'partnering' with sian ppl beside me.... But on a positive side, the rest of the gang are pretty funny & warm bunch of ppl! The below pics looks the same but it's actually not la.... :X
|
Everyone smiling wider this time |
Sometimes certain things are really blessing in disguise.
In the beginning I was sian being arrow to be part of this staff welfare committee but seeing the enthu level of the rest, it was easier for me to see & embrace their positive energy and channel it into my own. Although I would never get to tell them in person, but I am actually glad to be given the opportunity to mix with these GENUINELY nice & helpful ppl.

The collage of many instant photo pic was what we had to present to the director on NDP |

This is my dept. Not everyone was present. 最左边那位就是让我这两年惨不忍睹,生不如死的主管。 |

A spontaneous candid shot by another college of my & my bestie at work, Niko. |
The long holiday was also good for me as my parents will be going to Genting on a short trip and Xiang could come over and stayover for a few days! I could also whip up some simple meals which is actually a failed attempt at omu fried rice (with leftover ingredients) & tomato pasta for Ah Neng, Dearie & myself! LOL!
I love that we totally nuah for 4 consecutive days sleeping 12-13hrs a day watching Crime Scene Investigation channel graciously given free by Starhub during the 'festive season'.
NATAS
Dearie & I visited NATAS with hopes of finding a Scandanavian/Europe deal at the end of the year as well as a Korea autumn deal in end Oct/early Nov as Dearie want to whack his Korean apparel & accessories as well as skincare products!
We're still toying with the idea of Free & Easy or following tour because we have already visited Korea once and not really enthu with theme parks. I'd definitely love to visit the sites that we previously didn't get to visit such as Namsam Seoul Tower, Gyeongbok Royal Palace, Hongdae and whatever-dong (Samchongdong, Insadong etc)
Exercise/Running
Last year, I started taking up various exercises offered at Jurong Sports Hall such as kickboxing, aerobics, cardiomix and I'm currently continuing with cardiomix. But I decided to explore yoga & pilates. As such there was an offer of $50 for 10-day intro pass at a studio call
Bikram Yoga Habourfront just opposite my chiropractic clinic which I also jio Huihui to do together! :D
The owners are ang moh and naturally there were a lot of ang mohs & westernized ppl attending class. It was tiring. I never expected hot yoga to be like that. I was dizzy at the end of the 1.5hr class conducted in 40 degree cel studio room.
After 4 lessons in the span of 10 days, I concluded that while it was effective in working out/losing weight but it was boring and cramped. I was doing the same things the entire time during the 4 lessons and contrary to the belief that it was about stretching, I felt that it was mainly about balancing which... isn't really for everyone. I struggled with keeping my balance everytime on one leg and it's tmd difficult!!!!!! Really, not easy at all. Tried 4 times, every time couldn't do it! Haha!! And really is sweat buckets! Every lesson, I end up with a giddy head so... nah, not for me. Maybe COLD yoga is more like it, but nah, not HOT yoga.
I have also JUST started Pilates. It focused a lot on the core that made me ache for days but so far I've only had ONE lesson so I'm looking forward for more!
I will also be doing my first 10km run Yellow Prison Run this coming Sunday and I AM VERY SCARED!!!! Hahaha... Hope my timing won't be too lousy la. I run 35-40min for 5km but I'm pretty sure my 10km will be barely 80min. I probably need 90? Let's see.
