What a wonderful emporium that I wish it could exist in real life! I felt like a kid hoping to get a piece of those amazing toys! Why don't we have toy inventors like Mr Magorium?

Dustin Hoffman is Mr Magorium, toy inventor/creator/seller? Natalie Portman is Molly Mahoney.

What I didn't understand was why did he have to leave? I mean of course there wouldn't be anymore storyline left if he didn't leave but there wasn't a clear reason as to why and it left me quite... unsatisfied.

Mahoney's character seem to conflict every now & then... she's an aspiring pianist, hoping to compose her own songs but yet she has a job as sales assistant in the Emporium (toy shop)... At one hand, she's full of magical sense, she even tried to 'instilled' some humour into Henry, the stiff, everyday-normal-working-personnel, but when Mr Magorium died, she turned into this 'back to reality' person and tried to sell the toy store!

My favourite character would have to be Eric, this extra-ordinary boy who wanted to make friends but understands that his interests turn other kids off. I was moved at certain parts of him, like when he said Mahoney was his only friend and she asked him how was the camp and he lied and said there was Jeff, who is actually a squirrel.

When he was at home, his mom asked what he did today. He said he built a statue, his mom asked if he did it by himself, he said, "Well, there were ppl." His mom suggest to him to make friends by saying hi! That was where he wrote a note 'Hi' to Henry and he asked him if he like checkers...it was so sweet!

我觉得自己好像他。
因为没有朋友,所以常常幻想自己有朋友。
他做的东西别人觉得奇怪,我好像也是这样。

没有人了解他为什么收集这么多帽子。
他就是喜欢帽子。。。。

Another figure which I like was one of the 'hugging' toys which kept stretching out its arm whenever Henry is near cos it wanted to hug him~

Awww... Overall, there were some heartwarming parts even though the whole storyline didn't make any sense. It's kinda like Charlie & The Chocolate Factory? Mr Magorium is eccentric like Willy Wonka... Yeah.
