Noona Summer Romance
About 3 months ago, I was watching I Do I Do & Big. Both of which are 姐弟恋 dramas.
Female lead of I Do I Do is Kim Sun Ah (My Name is Kim Sam Soon) who plays an alpha-female shoe designer who had a one-night stand with her unexpected new assistant! The young male lead is a fresh faced newcomer and I think he's really super endearing!!!

Kim Sun Ah got pregnant from the one night stand and actually wanted to abort the baby. By chance, the male lead overheard her conversation with seemingly a gynae doctor and he was delighted to know that he's the father of the baby!
I can't be sure if he was attracted to her as a person or after knowing he's going to be a father. It's nice & sweet for a guy to be HAPPY instead of being in distress after knowing they made some girl pregnant. This female lead has been brought up well to take full responsibility. Which was why it was quite funny when he offered to take responsibility and will do his duty as a husband and a father but the Kim Sun Ah rejected immediately.
After making a few visits to the clinic, her heart soften when she heard the fetus' heartbeat. At the same time, there were incidents that happened at work that allowed the male & female leads to spend a lot of time together. They were slowly attracted to each other....
This above scene happened before the teenager knew she was his teacher. So hmmm.... budding crush? :P She's supposed to be 26 and he's supposed to be 18. 8 years apart but still, the character is a teenager....
Unfortunately, Shin Won Ho didn't have a lot of screen time because his bike collided with Gong Yoo's car in a accident and their souls were swapped and our lead actress was crying for the loss of her fiance & her student. She got a shock of her life when her fiance returned to life but what horrified her further was it's her student inside the body of her fiance!!! The soul of her fiance was inside the student's body and the boy was in a coma!
They took wedding photos together. But because the real fiance/doctor is in a coma and lived inside the body of the teenager. So technically, the person inside Gong Yoo's body is her student who's just taking wedding photos with his teachers in place of her real husband-to-be. Even I get confused by what I was trying to describe.
It's a a cute dynamic! The 2nd leads also added flavour to the triangle/square relationship. It's basically a light-hearted rom-com with a happy ending! (Spoiler: The baby is a girl who's going to be like mama!)

This show, Big, is a little bit unrealistic in the sense that they have the 'magical element' inside.
Female lead Lee Min Jung (You can probably recognise her from Boys Over Flowers) plays a high school teacher. Gong Yoo (Coffee Prince) plays her boyfriend-turn-fiance who's a pediatrician doctor.

There is another teenage character (played by a newcomer Shin Won Ho) who's a new student in Lee Min Jung's class. There were a few 暧昧 scenes in the beginning episodes but it's important to the development

Yeah! What the shit I know! It's that far-fetched. Especially you know you're talking to your student who's inside the body of your fiance! How can you still treat your student as your student when his appearance if the person whom you're in a relationship with? How can you not be confused?

The story slowly unfold and...... both the male leads turns out to be brothers! Things got really complicated from there and the angst slowly built up. To everyone, the one true couple are together as per normal. But to the both of them, there is always the gap (teacher/student, older female/younger male, happy family/single family etc).
The female lead got confused many times if she's in love with Gong Yoo or her student.
The mother of the 2 brothers played a crucial part because this woman is so damn crazy! WHY? Because she only gave birth to the younger brother in order to save the older brother who has some congenitally illness. So the mother doesn't love the younger son at all... he's merely a clone/twin, existing to save her beloved firstborn should his medical condition relapse one day.

I was dumbfounded when the story happened this way.... But guess who's the person the mom was actually talking to? The younger son who's trapped inside his older brother's body.
Hate to spoil the fun but the ending sucked so bad for me. The built-up was so well done, climax to the max then...... flops... because:
Hate to spoil the fun but the ending sucked so bad for me. The built-up was so well done, climax to the max then...... flops... because:
- Although they eventually switched back, the real doctor never really love the female lead and they broke up since there was a gap during the period he was in coma stuck in another person's body
- The person who really love the female lead is only a teenager and she couldn't accept him because he's underage. Society can't accept it.
- One fine day after several years, they both met again and what do u know? The teenager had grown into a fine young man who looked exactly like his brother.
- They just fucking smiled at each other under the same green umbrella at the first episode and that's it! Camera pulls away and nobody said anything... it's assumed that they can now be together
HAHA! The cast and cinematography were pretty but the storyline just couldn't work for me, I'm sorry.
