Biscuit Teacher & Star Candy (2005)
There was another name for this drama: Hello My Teacher
This particular drama isn't new. It was from 2005, during the Full House, Delightful Girl Chun Hyang, My Girl era.
But this drama manage to captivate me because I laughed with it, I cried with it... and it touched me that Gong Yoo is able to pull off the innocent touch of a high school senior & crushing on his form teacher!!
I had watched Gong Yoo's newest drama Big first. Although Big was a total flop but I did like certain little gestures in Big, just like how Hello My Teacher gave me. It's very awwwwww......
The show started with a flashback 6-7 years ago when Na Bori (Gong Hyo Jin), a rebellious female student involved with fights was being expelled from XX High School. We see that after 6-7 years, she applied as a teacher in that very same High School that she was expelled from.
I know, weird logic. But her reason was because she wanted to repay back to the art teacher, Mr Ji who saw good in her and inspired her to become a teacher like him. However, the school turned her application down.
On the other side of the story was rebellious & arrogant kid, Park Tae In (Gong Yoo) who has landed from USA, sneaking his way back from the airport. A teenage & stylish girl driving a convertible was waiting for him at the airport. They are presumably to be a couple with super rich parents.
Na Bori begged the school to hire her. So the principal, who's actually Park Tae In's stepmother decided to hire her be Tae In's babysitter. Obviously Tae In wasn't cool with the idea and find ways to get Bori fired but Mr Ji will step in & help Bori out.
As it turns out...
While Tae In was being an ass, Bori was trying her best to help out all the troubled students in the class. That was when I saw how closely-knitted all of them are. Despite being a bully in school, he was also genuinely concerned with some of his close classmates.
After spending an enormous time together, Tae In slowly accepted Bori and decides that he likes her! *swoons* Of course, Na Bori didn't take him seriously. She just waved it off as "boy crush" and he will soon stop liking her once he found someone he really likes. But unfortunate, this boy is FOR REAL. DEAD REAL.
Just watch this fan made MV
Na Bori started seeing Mr Ji but obviously his family didn't approve her. And this was when the drama got draggy & repetitive in the middle when the story was shifting towards Na Bori 对 Park Tae In 视而不见. When she was hurting because of Mr Ji and the pressure that comes from this doomed relationship, it was Tae In by her side and cheering her up....
It was quite hard to watch how the true feelings of the poor boy being disregarded, simple cos he is regarded as an immature boy....
When it was a day before the wedding of Na Bori & Mr Ji, she actually got cold feet. The wedding didn't happen. She didn't choose Mr Ji nor Tae In. She just disappeared....
During the last couple of episodes, we see that she has become a night class teacher. Tae In was surprised to see her when he was trying to enroll for night class. They eventually rekindled the feelings and started going out again!
It was a happy ending.... Eventually both of them became high school teachers of THAT high school which they met and fell in love! :)
AWWWWWWW SWEEEEEETTTTTT!!!!!!! Everything about this drama is a pulling factor lol.
The only pushing factor is actually Mr Ji. I can't stand all the scenes that has him. He seems like a 斯文败类 and he's quite weak... besides just PURE LIKING Na Bori, he can't do a single thing for her! Pfffft!! WEAK!!! 算什么男人.
Whereas, I tell you, Tae In is TOTALLY MAN inside.... I mean yes, he's a boy, he has a pure heart of a pure, how man could he get. But he's just so incredibly sweet to Na Bori in EVERY SINGLE WAY and he lights up like a puppy whenever Na Bori is around him... he has endless energy and always want to be useful to her & everyone.
JUST GO AND WATCH ALREADY IF YOU HAVEN'T! Never mind that it's 2005, you'll still find it DAMN SWEET if you're a sucker for lovey dovey romance & those mush feelings!

As it turns out...
- Mr Ji is Tae In's Uncle as she's the younger brother of Tae In's stepmother.
- Mr Ji actually love Bori when she was his student but because she was a student and he was a teacher, nothing could be done.
- Mr Ji was also Bori's first love so she was of course delighted to be around the person she has been thinking for all these years.
