One of Hong Sisters Greatest works.

Gong Hyo Jin's outfits in the official posters are misleading because she doesn't wear any of those! She is mainly in Tshirt & jeans or lose-fitting dresses throughout the entire drama.

I first knew about Gong Hyo Jin after watching Best Love/Greatest Love and I subsequently went back to watch her earlier works such as Hello Teacher/Biscuit Teacher & Star Candy.

I love her image. Very positive, bright, sunny, cheerful, vibrant, smiley, joyful & basically someone extremely endearing! She's tall & slim! Definitely a role model type of artiste!

How I came to know of So Ji Sub came a long way back during the late 90s/early 2000s. He's on the same league as Lee Byung Hun, Bae Yong Jun, Song Seong Hun back then. I first watched him in Glass Slippers with Kim Hyun Joo. I absolutely love this drama that I borrowed two huge books & read about the story that would even make me tear even while READING it.

Dramas back in the early 2000s were mostly melodrama so The Master's Sun was his first rom-com. Can I just say that this Hong Sister's drama production is SOOOOOOO DAAAAAAAAMMNNN CUUUUUTTTTEEEEEE.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot a lot of blogs out there who's able to give you a positive review about just how you should go watch this drama already!!!!!!

Gong Hyo Jin plays Tae Gong Shil, who's able to see ghost (dead ppl) and had been leading a 'abnormal' life. She can never get enough sleep and is permanently restless because ghosts kept going to her and asking her for requests. She's often seen talking to air where most ppl would label her as crazy. But there's nothing she could do.

So Ji Sub plays the CEO of a shopping mall call Kingdom, President Joo Joong Won. He is calculative, cold & mean. He only cares about making profit and obviously do not believe in ghosts.

One stormy night after fulfilling a ghost's request, Gong Shil hitched a ride in President's Joo's car, much to his dismay. Actually his secretary - Secretary Kim, a middle age uncle/guardian/caretaker - was the one who suggest to give the poor lady a ride.

In the car, Gong Shil realised that touching President Joo would poof the ghosts away!!!! What a good excuse for skinship!

What happens next was her unintentionally appearing by his side and they strike up a deal - She'll use her ghost radar to find out what happened in a kidnap that gone wrong 15 years ago + ghost sightings that affect the reputation of Kingdom Mall & Hotel and he'll be around as her bunker/shelter whenever she needs to hide away from those scary ghosts.

I think of it as a "Friends with Benefit" deal. All she wants is to hide away from the ghost and just have a goodnight rest and it's as simple as touching any part of his body. To him, he just wants to find out what happened during the kidnap 15 years ago and what happened to the ransom along with the death of his teenage first love/girlfriend. So... he's willing to be involved in this 'meaningless skinship'.

But of course, things usually doesn't go according to your wishes as he slowly realised the importance of her presence which is the whole point of this drama! The title called The Master's Sun. President Joo is the Master and Tae Gong Shil is his Sun! :)

The soundtrack was also so appropriate and accurately conveyed what all of the characters were feeling at that point of time!

Seo In Gook plays the second male lead Kang Woo, who's a bodyguard/Head of Security who's hired by President Joo's father to investigate about the kidnap case. He moved into Gong Shil's block on the pretext to try to find out who is this woman who's around President Joo. In the beginning, we could see it was 'for work' but he slowly was drawn to Gong Shil and would like to protect her.

I have to say I love all his fighting scenes. This young kid (Also born 1987) is damn sweet towards girls! It's no wonder second female lead, Tae Yi Ryeong fall head over heels for him and tried to 'chase' him despite rejection by Kang Woo.

This is the kind of drama that every side character is worth watching. The drama is so good, I watched it real-time without subs every Wed & Thurs then re-watching it again with subtitles without fast-forwarding!

For those who has already watched, these are the scenes that touched me. For those who hasn't watched, these aren't meant to be spoilers but just to recap why I LOVE THIS DRAMA so much!

1. Gongshil was at some accident site where lots of deaths involved. Joong Won suddenly appears & twirled her into his arm and said, "Your shelter is here. Hide."

2. During the Ghost Dog episode, they both sat down on the sofa, she said since he helped her to be less afraid of ghosts, she will also help him to be less afraid of reading. She fell asleep and he inched forward to what it seemed to tried to kiss her (but it didn't happen :P)

3. After bailing her out of jail, she wants to know if he really only treated her like a Ghost Radar. She placed her hand on his face and asked, "You don't feel anything, right?" But he said, "Did you really think I'm a stone or a marble who doesn't feel anything?"

4. During the Swimming Pool Ghost episode, she misunderstood that he specially arrange to watch fireworks at the swimming pool with her but she ran back to her room after hearing him on the phone that he's trying to catch the swimming pool ghost. She was upset cos she THOUGHT he also has feeling for her but actually, he just wanted to use her Ghost Radar... :(

5. The Pianist's Wife ghost possessed Gongshil. Joong Won was informed and he returned all the way from the airport and 'kissed' the ghost away - but this is something Gongshil had no idea of.

Go watch ok and tell me what you think!
