One thing I know about Mongolia after watching TV are that Mongolian names are very long.

Anyway, why did I mention Mongolia?

It started with watching periodic dramas. I was fascinated by the ancient China History about the reign of Mongolians.

Mongolia is just situated outside the China Mainland border. Mongolia used to be part of China under the Khan's reign during late Yuan Dynasty. But unfortunately they were defeated by the Manchurian which marked the start of Qing Dynasty. That is roughly what I know.

Ever since watching Zai Sheng Yuan & Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre, I was very interested in Mongolian History and went to d some research and was totally baffled by the lovely scenery & plains in Mongolia. It's an awesome place of nature.

Kinda looks like NZ farms too?

Don't you think the bottom right corner looks like the default winxp wallpaper? *giggles*

Anyway, I did some research and found some maps of the Qin Dynasty. During the Qin Dynasty, the capital was at Luoyang. Chang An was capital during the Tang Dynasty. During the Yuan Dynasty, Dadu was the capital. It's amazing how different Dynasties has different capitals... how did it eventually become Beijing?

According to the map of Qin Empire, Qin Shihuang's reign spreaded so wide! However, Qin Shihuang was actually not the first ruler of 'one' China. Before his reign, were the warring states of 5 states. And before that was the Three Kingdom. Qin Shihuang's identity was also a mystery in fact.

As for Mongolian history, Genghis Khan was the founder & the first ruler of Mongolia. But when it comes to developing & flourishing, Kublai Khan contributed the most as a ruler.

Why we don't get to study Mongolian history as part of China history/studies in Singapore history education ah? I think I would score pretty well!
