A random evening watching TV with my sisters in the living room.

Neng was watching TV. 康熙来了 was on TV. Haven't watched this show in a long time since Xiao S went for maternity leave.

So the special guest on the show was on this 神探,李昌永. This Li Changyong guy was a middle age guy, not sure if he passed 50 but looks around there is a well-known crime scene detective/investigator.

He was from the military (or police) and got 30-40 years of experience in solving crimes. He was so good that he was invited/required to work in USA. He doesn't have a fix working place, so long there's a from a big case, he & his team will go through the profile and decide whether to do it or not cos he gets 400-500 grievance emails a day and it was impossible to take on every case.

His job is something like those international CSI type of person whereby he has to collect evidence at a crime scene to nab possible suspects and eventually find out the murderer etc. He said one must be very alert to study the crime scene fast, everything has to be done within hours or days. Collect every piece of information back for the lab to test DNA, origins.

The procedures was exactly like what you see on CSI and some HK drama serials.

Xiao S asked Li, "So do you guys go out to celebrate or someone when you finished cracking a case?"

Li said that those HK movies and even CSI were too drama. In a real life situation, everything was so much more gross than that, like 10 times more. The celebration part was a total crap because once they finish a case, they've got another case. Some cases takes 20 or even 30 years to crack depending on the situation.

So Li talked about some of the meaningful cases he had dealt with. There was a single father's 18 year-old daughter who was murdered but unable to find evidence & reason behind his daughter's death.

This case was being dragged on until the father was diagnosed with cancer and had less than 1 month to live so he really 拜托 Mr Li to crack the case for him,在他离开人世的时候,为他查出真相. However, something when you go about cracking a case, you don't get results immediately considering there were also several on going cases all at the same time. And then the father died even before Li could find our the reason. But Li did eventually 完成心愿 for this father.

It wasn't mentioned how the case was solved but Li was just sharing one of the 遗憾 that he couldn't deliver the news to the father but at least the case was solved and hope that the father & daughter will reunite at 天国.

There was another case about this 黑人姐弟相依为命 and the younger brother was murdered. The background story was that both their parents had died and they live together. Elder sister was probably mid 20s and, brother was a few years younger but he only has an IQ of a 7 year-old. He had no ability of comprehension or think of himself. He wouldn't go out and work and would always stay at home & all.

At first upon listening till here, I would have thought that the sister probably killed the brother under tremendous amount of stress cos she was doing all the work to support himself and the brother. But it wasn't like that.

Apparently this low IQ black guy found a job at a petrol kiosk. One day, there was a rape-cum-murder case of a young girl who lived in the vicinity where the black guy was working. Then some white cops had gotten the black guy to sign something. Since the guy has low IQ, obviously he had no idea what was happening and went ahead and sign it and 莫名其妙地成为了凶手.

Li thought that this case seemed very odd & fishy and opened the case again. It turned out that the sperm didn't belong to the low IQ black guy and he was 无罪释放. But then he has already been convicted for 18 years. 被关了18年才无罪释放... this is so sad.

It reminded me of another case I watched previously on some police investigation on Discovery Channel or something. It was about a white woman who live alone in her apartment and one day there was a break in by a black guy who raped her. Luckily neighbours heard her shouts and called the police but the black guy had escaped. So the police had a few suspects being caught and need her to verify. She pointed a person and insisted that guy had raped her.

Actually the person whom she pointed out wasn't the 真凶 but he didn't have 不在场的证据 cos he was dealing with drugs & he had police records before. He claimed that he didn't rape the white woman but with a background like that, he lost the case and was convicted.

However, as the real mccoy was still at large, there were several other cases happened to the description of this white woman: break into house which belongs to a female living alone, stole money and rape them. Alas, the 真凶 was captured. And when the picture of the real suspect and the wrongly convicted man was put together, they looked really identical. 11 years ago, the white woman insisted that this was the man who raped her. And she cried in front of the camera that she was sorry she got the wrong man convicted for 11 years.

Another sad case where the whites has superiority... Now still happening ah?

Xiao S asked Li to talk about his most memorable case. Li said he had lots of memorable cases but he'll just mention about this which was solved very quickly. There was a 60 year-old mother who lives with her daughter. Daughter at work, mother alone at home.

At the crime scene, mother was stabbed to death in the kitchen. But crime scene was clean, no bloody mess, no prints. She was stabbed 27 times but the stabbing were done after she was dead. Li said that it should be done by someone who knows the victim cos this person is very familiar and knew she'd be home and she'd let him into the house. Everything was done cleanly.

Li was saying he was thinking the 犯罪 psychology why the murderer wanted to clean the scene? 然后他就联想到 he probably will leave footprints behind and it will trail to his shoes, that's why he needed to clean the floor. Li asked the 搜查组 to search for all the dustbins around the neighbourhood and found the pair of shoes with blood stain within 30 minutes.

At this point, Neng was telling me something else and I sort of missed the gist of what Li said. But it was something like they went to the vicinity to search for shoe shops which sells this type of shoes and checked who were the customers that might be related to the victim. They took the shoes back and there was a strand of hair found and able to find the DNA etc. It turned out to be the nephew who was into drugs and wanted money and killed his aunt. This case was solve within 24hrs time.

Woah, really very nice right? What a meaningful session. Li also intro the audience and the host what were some of the tools which are usually needed for a crime scene investigation. Wahhh... Tired liao went to sleep...

We started filming at 11am @ Fort Canning for our video shoot project. It was an enjoyable occasion.

Everything was different from the way we recce it. We shoot until 4pm plus and all of us went back to school and passed the camera to Jojo. Only had lunch with Rajat at 4+ at Raffles City. Then took train home.

Wanted to walk from Jurong East but was really tired after walking from Chinese Garden cos I stood the whole day during the video shoot, thighs aching so I sat down at the Firestation at Golden Willow and took some pics there.

This is how my neighbourhood looks like...And that's the main road.
And uh... taking a pic of my handphone wallpaper...*shy*

I sat down until the sun sets while sms-ing Dearie and told him about how interesting my video shoot went and suggested we should go to Fort Canning some day and hopefully we'd get to go there a few years later too *hint hint ROM*

Went home and slept all the way until 9pm then had dinner while watching TV and went online.

So Sean msg me and asked me what my course is doing. And in case you all have no idea what am I doing, let me copy what was written in my school's website, the course layout. the modules which I'm taking and what my line would be.

I think I mentioned this lots of time that I wanna do something like KOKORO in the future. Animation Music Production. You design character, you do scripting and writing storyline, you get voiceover and you write original themes or soundtrack for it.

The original KOKORO, if you read from the website, started out as a non-profit website, a group of friends set it up purely for interest purposes. But it slowly expand and TV Productions get the original storyline from them and film it into dramas. Comic publisher will get them to illustrate their works into comic books. And their theme songs can be downloaded as handphone ringtones. How cool is that?

Chatted with Dearie & we were talking about him coming over my place on Saturday to meet my parents. He was quite worried and stuffs and asked me if need to bring or buy something to meet them. Errr... actually I don't have experience on this also, I also dunno leh. Then he said not nice la, first meet best is the bring additional food to add on. But...errr... what can be bought etc?

So I suggested him getting some snacks which my sisters & dad like to pig in with. Like swiss roll or some giam sng dee or something. Then I suggested meeting slight earlier at IMM walk walk see what can we get, then go back to my place for dinner then after dinner go Jurong Point walk walk or for a movie or something.

He went, "Whatever suits you ba."
I was like... "Aiyo! Dearie 真得很疼我 leh."
他回答我说,“我不疼你,那我疼谁?”

我对着电脑荧幕,笑得好象白痴一样,可是心里是百万的甜滋滋的。
