A friend strongly recommended Cyborg She, a film directed by the Korean director who shot My Sassy Girl.

So yeah, Japanese casts, Korean director.

I'd wanted to watch it when it came out cos I'd always been interested in the relationship between humans & robots/humanoids? Remember the song No. 89757 by Lin Junjie and Ji Qi Wa Wa by Xiaozhu? Haha... That's why I kinda like Absolute Boyfriend.

The show started with a sweet girl who appeared out of nowhere playing hide & seek with a guy who was celebrating his own birthday. He didn't have friends and was a loner. So the girl somehow befriended him.

They had some fun together running all over the streets of Kobe Chinatown doing outrageous things and the girl was really happy until she had to go but couldn't bear to leave him... He was also sad that he had to go. Before she left, she said, "Would you believe me if I said I came from the future?" He was puzzled...

A year had passed and he was celebrating his birthday again and he wondered if he'd see the girl again. And yes, the girl appeared again... But this time, she didn't seem to recognise him.. she was behaving quite violently & odd and had superhuman strength...

As it turns out, she was a robot, created by himself from the future to protect the him now. He was supposed to be shot by a gun in the restaurant he was celebrating his own birthday. But this robot saved him. And this robot was created by the male lead himself 60 years from now. So they spent time together and the violent robot was slowly learning to become a human... so he falls for her.

But because he was saved from an incident where he was supposed to be the dead, history & future were re-written and a big Tokyo earthquake awaits them... She went to his aid when he was in grave danger..

Did she die in the end?? Hehe...
