My Lucky Star (2007)
I was starting to watch this drama, My Lucky Star starring Yoo Hana & Jimmy Lin.
It was an SET production.
Jimmy Lin's face is quite unfamiliar in the TW drama scene. He is actually considered an uncle as compared to all the newcomers SET has. I heard from Ah Mian that this was a nice show and guess what!! I teared at the first 2 episodes liao! It was that li hai!!!
Lee Wei will be appearing in the later part of the movie...I can't wait. Got NICE NICE TRIANGLE LEH!!! Wahaha...
Yoo Hana is Xia Zhixing as a fraud/cheat who makes counterfiet jewelery and con ppl. That was her way of living together with her boyfriend. But the police found them out and chased after them. Unfortunately, Xia Zhixing got caught while the boyfriend managed to escape.
At the other side of the story was this punk racer, Zhong Tianqi, younger son of influential jewelly maker.
His elder brother Zhong Tianjun is played by Leon Williams.
When Xia Zhixing first met Zhong Tianqi, she was actually escaping from the cops and accidentally knocked against a lamp post. Zhong Tianqi saw that the cops were coming for her and took her as a thief and sort of assisted the cops in capturing her.
You know what's ironic? Leon William's born in 1977 and Jimmy Lin in 1974 but the latter is the former's younger brother! Oh mo... I wonder how Jimmy Lin manage to maintain his youthful boyish looks being a 35 this year. Of course he was 33 when he shot this drama.
I guess my weekend would be much better spent watching My Lucky Star... I didn't think Jimmy Lin could act but he can!! The first 2 episodes was really touching...As I mentioned before Xia Zhiqing took on the rap and went to jail for a year, everyday she anticipates the moment she'd be reunited with her boyfriend.
But when she was eventually let out, very unfortunately she met Zhong Tianqi in the mall where the latter's father sent bodyguards to bring the younger son back home. Somehow, there were cuffed together la... so Ah Xing wanted to go find the boyfriend and Tianqi would have to go with her since they were cuffed together. But as it turned out, the boyfriend was married and he had a pregnant wife. He kept apologising to Ah Xing that they couldn't be together... Ah Xing was feeling crushed inside but still put up a front in front of the boyfriend...
She eventually left and cried her heart out and Tianqi's opnion of her changed... sigh... Tianqi comforted her and I guess through all these time spent together, there were some sparks?

I continued with watching My Lucky Star... it's so awww... the love story between Xia Zhixing & Zhong Tianqi was sooo... and I am so envious of how much Tianqi loves Ah Xing...But that stupid father of Tianqi's always coming in between... sigh! Though typical but still enjoyable to watch.
The drama has it's turning point when Tianqi's father was enraged by his actions of being together with a conwoman like Xia Zhixing. He stopped all Tianqi's way of livelihood... so Tianqi ended up working at construction site while Xia Zhixing made DIY accessories to sell. It pained Ah Xing to see that a rich man's son like Tianqi had to endure so much hardship with her for falling out with his father...
Usually in drama, it's those rich man's daughter willing to be together with poor guy and the girl would insist that the guy he's in love with is talented and would make a name for himself one day. Rich man will find all ways to stop the guy from getting close to his daughter, would probably even arrange thugs to beat him up blababla...
But My Lucky Star, the rich man is taking it on his own son which I find a bit off... But ya la, it's even unethical of him to take it on a girl. But of cos... Tianqi's father did use some tactics to make Ah Xing realise the hardships that Tianqi went through, psycho-ing her to give up on Tianqi... tsk tsk...
Tianjun plays a vital part in the story of helping his little brother in all kinds of ways. He persuaded Tianqi to go back to E-Shine, so that the rich man will no longer make things difficult for Ah Xing and they could buy time to persuade their father to slowly accept Ah Xing....

FYI... I am a Fan of him when he was 18 to before he went army. I have all his cassette (yes), concert video and picture books. hahahha..
He is so cute and handsome..then.
He is also a F1 driver. He loves car.
And... off course I've watched this TV serial liaoz lo. haha.
