We didn't catch this movie in the cinema but watched it on Dearie's hard disk.

It was a periodic dark movie call Dorian Gray...

Young, innocent, naive guy landed into London. Some more experience 'uncle' showed him the pleasures of life by bringing him to brothels and visiting prostitutes.... Throughout the entire show, I wasn't really sure what was the motive of this uncle played by Colin Firth...

Some of the highlight of the show was getting his portrait painted to 'retain his youth' eternally.

Again, I wasn't really sure what was the deal with the artist or how the 'deal with the devil' began. Ben Barnes' character Dorian made a pledge that he will do anything to stay as he is in the portrait.

Probably some devil heard it and a curse mysteriously happened because each time he committed a crime (such as indulging in sexual acts), the portrait painting turn uglier & devilish looking.

After trying different kinds and races of women, he also tried with men as well... so there were also sexual scenes with male actors lol

There were some murder/crime involved and he laid low and disappeared for 18 years. 18 years later, he appeared again and people were shocked by how young he still looked like....

Eventually ppl realised and are talking about how he had exchanged his soul with the devil in order to look young and beautiful.

And then I wasn't really sure why the uncle wanted to kill him and they wanted to kill each other.... and he killed the painting revealing his actual looks it was shown in the painting. AIYA! It's dark and rather disturbing actually...

Initially I watched it because I remembered the male lead as Prince Caspian in Narnia! He was tall dark dashing with dark hair, totally swoon worthy. But his acting was so so in Dorian Gray, plus I didn't quite get the movie nor appreciate it. So... not my cup of tea.
